More than 40 wine vendors will exhibit their finest wares at Stockton’s 19th annual Wine Tasting event. Sponsored by Phillips Fine Wines, the event will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, September 29, at the firehouse on Mill Street in Stockton.
Proceeds from this annual event go to support the Stockton Volunteer Fire Company and the Stockton First Aid Squad. These two organizations provide valuable public service, responding to approximately 300 calls per year.
“Running a volunteer fire company is very expensive,” explained Julia Grecco of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Stockton Fire Company, which has organized the event. “It can cost more than $2,500 to outfit a fireperson. Events like this help us to raise the money we need to keep our ambulances and fire trucks in working condition and to cover the day-to-day costs of maintaining the firehouse.”
In addition to the wines, be prepared to have your appetite satisfied by restauranteurs and caterers of the local areas.
A limited number of tickets are available for this event. Tickets are $60 each, and can be purchased at Phillips Fine Wines on Bridge Street in Stockton.
