Delaware Township U14 Rec Soccer Team Takes 1st Place in Midlands Soccer Tournament

The Delaware Township Athletic Association’s U14 recreational soccer team took first place in the Midlands Soccer Tournament at North Burlington, NJ high school last weekend, overcoming Cranbury in double overtime. The Cranbury team had been undefeated for three years in a row. The playoff game – the Delaware Township team’s third game that day – was tied 2-2 until the last minute of double overtime when Evan Wright scored the winning goal.

“I was so pleased and impressed with the team’s performance, both how well they played and their sportsmanship throughout the tournament,” said Coach Karl Pittenger. “Everyone gave their all and they were up against some very competitive teams.”
