That’s right, the Delaware Township Yankees and Mets face off tonight in a DTAA baseball game at the Field of Dreams. These two minor league teams made up of third and fourth graders have a long history (since kindergarten) of playing together. Supported by their hard-core fans (their parents), it’s sure to be an exciting game. Also playing at Dilts tonight are two of the three DTAA rookie teams – Rangers and Giants.
DTAA fields one team in the little league majors (fifth and sixth graders) and runs a Saturday morning tee-ball clinic for kindergarten age and younger.
The teams play against teams from the nearby communities of East Amwell, New Hope and Lambertville. Almost all games are played on week day evenings at 6:00pm. The regular season runs until June 5, there is a game at Dilts at least three nights a week and the snack shack will be open. After the regular season, DTAA sponsors teams in the area all-star tournaments run by towns such as East Amwell and Hopewell. If you are out in the park in the next month, stop by and enjoy the games.
